Personality:

Bullet; Green {Loyal} Mudpelt, once you get to know him, will warm up to you and will stick to your side. He has never ventured far beyond the borders of Riverclan, and he never seeked any way to have fun while breaking rules- he is both loyal to the warrior code, and to his clan. Mudpelt would stay with his friends, even if they were doing something wrong, and stick up for them. Mudpelt always had his parents around, and he stuck by them until their deaths.

Bullet; Red {Arrogant} While Mudpelt is loyal, he is sometimes arrogant when it comes to himself. He isn't too fond of other cats, especially if they had bad first impressions with a specific feline. Mudpelt is sometimes snobby, becoming arrogant when it comes to him gaining an achievement in something, which could be hunting or in a battle. Mudpelt is swallowed in his pride, and can act like a egoistical tom at times when he does get in the mood. Mudpelt gets this trait from the fact he was never told how to act when around others, so it makes it harder for him to act.

Bullet; Red {Short tempered}  Unfortunately, Mudpelt can get angry, and tends to do so a lot. If he overhears a cat talking about him, Mudpelt will immediately stand up for himself by getting angry and roaring insults at said cat. Mudpelt isn't the best cat to speak to while he's in a foul rage, and he'll even snap at the deputy whenever asked to do a patrol during his anger.

Bullet; Orange {Socially Awkward}  Mudpelt, due to him having no littermates to interact, or 'practice' social skills, with, he has always been wary of the crowd. He has a small fear that he would be rejected by others, and he prefers to hunt alone or with few cats. Mudpelt never understood friendship, and this was caused both by his parenting and lack of littermates.

Bullet; Green {Affectionate}   If you become a great friend with Mudpelt, he'll probably give you some affection when he's in a good mood. He sometimes mimicks the affection he was giving from his parents, and if you become one of the greatest friends Mudpelt could ever have, he'll probably give you treatment you wouldn't see in a tom like him. Mudpelt will often hide this side, embarrassed a bit.

Bullet; Green {Resourceful}  Due to Mudpelt having excuses to getting out of awkward conversations, he is seen as resourceful. He always takes note of the things around him, and knows that it's best to think about their uses if in a tight situation. He will sometimes mention an idea to others, the idea based on the surroundings.

Brief Backstory

BEFORE BIRTH:

Before an incident, Battlecry considered Tortoiseclaw to be a whiny little she-cat, while Tortoiseclaw thought Battlecry to be a spiteful tom who was selfish. They avoided each other most of the time, on patrols they would scramble to get more prey then the other cat. They hated each other so much Tortoiseclaw admitted to one of her friends that she'd rather get Greencough then sleep in the same den with Battlecry.
One day, Tortoiseclaw was hunting alongside the river, curved over the edge. The ground she sat on was moist, and it slowly succumbed. Tortoiseclaw was about to fall into the stream before Battlecry had come and grabbed her tail by his teeth. Tortoiseclaw was too embarrassed to talk about the scene, not wanting to seem too needy. Battlecry and her got along after that, and they found out they were alike.
Moons later, Battlecry asked Tortoiseclaw to be his mate, despite him originally liking another she-cat. Tortoiseclaw agreed. But they didn't know that the she-cat Battlecry gave up on was watching them whenever they were in camp.
Tortoiseclaw became pregnate after a two moons, and Battlecry was excited. He brought Tortoiseclaw Fresh-kill everyday, and it soon led up to the birth of Mudpelt.

KIT-HOOD:

On the night that Mudpelt was born, Battlecry was confronted by his original crush. The she-cat, who was named Galedive, asked what happened to their relationship. Battlecry didn't know what to tell her, but he knew she wouldn't leave him alone. Battlecry told her that if he died, or if Tortoiseclaw died, she could take over the role of Mudkit's parent. Galedive was satisfied- she never had a kit that survived over a moon (her own kit had died of the plague after a moon), so she agreed to the deal.
When Battlecry came to visit, he didn't mention what deal he made with his mate. When he saw that he only had one kit, he didn't seem to be fazed by it.
At the time when all cats left the den to leave the two in peace, Tortoiseclaw started telling Battlecry that'd she rather have her kit isolated from the other cats his age. Despite Battlecry's protests ("He won't develop any social skills!"), Tortoiseclaw demanded that her mate keep an eye on Mudkit to prevent him from getting an influence from others.
--------------------------------------------
Mudkit never learned how to socialize- most of the time, he'd play with his father in the clearing or just stay by the Nursery. He became wary when talking to older cats, and Mudkit often stuttered when he did.
It was around three moons when Mudkit slipped away from his father's watchful eye, and he ended up talking to another lonely kit. The kit's name was Webkit, a small pure white tom-kit with a quiet squeaky voice. Mudkit wasn't too aware that his father saw him talking to the kit, and they were dragged away.
Mudkit was lectured after the encounter, mainly because he broke one of the rules his own parents had created.
At four moons, Mudkit was waiting for his father to return from a hunting trip. He had left because he needed some time to himself, mainly after the fight he had with Tortoiseclaw over Mudkit's isolation.
Suddenly, Tortoiseclaw had left the nursery in a hurry, screeching. Mudkit never knew what happened, but he saw his father limp in the clearing- drenched in water.
-------------------------------
After that, Tortoiseclaw wouldn't talk about Battlecry to Mudkit. She refused to go on any subject concerning him, and this carried on until she couldn't stand the loneliness in the Nursery- which was once filled with the tabby tom's presence.
Galedive came, offering to take Mudkit off Tortoiseclaw's paws. Tortoiseclaw wasn't too sure, because she had lost all her trust. Galedive had not been in camp at the time when Battlecry's death occurred, and Tortoiseclaw no longer trusted any cats with her kit. But after persuading from Galedive, Tortoiseclaw agreed.
Mudkit was then raised by Galedive for the last moon of his kit-hood. But, just like Tortoiseclaw, Galedive never wanted to talk about Battlecry. Mudkit remembered the smirk on her face when he mentioned it, but then she'd fight off the thought.
Soon, it was Mudkit's apprentice ceremony.

APPRENTICE-LIFE:

When Mudkit became an apprentice, his mentor was Shiverwater. Shiverwater was a light grey tom with white paws, and he was kind to Mudpaw.
Shiverwater was always that cat that often observed Mudkit from afar- but he never spoke to Mudpaw until after his ceremony. Shiverwater had a soothing voice- one that matched Webkit's.
Whenever Mudpaw thought of Webkit, he flinched. Webkit had died of plague also, just like Galedive's kit. It was hard listening to Shiverwater and keeping his focus, because whenever Shiverwater spoke, Mudpaw thought of the poor friend he could of had.
-----------------------------
Mudpaw wasn't skilled at battle training- often flopping due to his extra 'weight'. Despite all of his failure, Shiverwater kept to cheering Mudpaw on, teaching him tricks to keep his balance even if he was standing on two paws. Mudpaw soon became better at training, going from often falling to having less accidents. Shiverwater put him with other apprentices, and Mudpaw managed to knock them over a few times before training ended. (but he was knocked over many more times)
Mudpaw seemed to see 'eye to eye' with Galedive now, mostly because they don't hang around each other for long. Galedive, occassionally, let Mudpaw eat with her and Tortoiseclaw, who had started to refuse to eat anything.
Mudpaw still didn't have many friends, and didn't want to after seeing pairs of apprentices gang up on loner cats. Tortoiseclaw, like always, reminded Mudpaw to keep his odd behavior, because she didn't want an ambitious son.
-----------------------------
It was the night before the day Mudpaw would be made a warrior. He was thirteen moons, and he awaited this moment for his whole life.
He was sleeping when suddenly, there was a cry.
Mudpaw found his mother dead in the Warriors' den, her eyes looking at nothing in particular. Galedive said that she had awoken to hear nothing- which was unlike her, due to her snoring usually.
The medicine cat said that Tortoiseclaw had never got a physical wound- but one on her heart. Tortoiseclaw had died of a broken heart- the grief getting stronger and stronger until Tortoiseclaw could do no more. The Medicine cat also mentioned that Tortoiseclaw had been ill- which may of explained her not eating. Mudpaw never noticed until she stopped eating, but he did not know why Galedive didn't tell the Healer sooner.
The leader had to postpone the ceremony so Mudpaw could grieve for his mother- but he tried to insist that he have his ceremony. The leader said it wouldn't be grand having your mother ignored while you brace a victorious ceremony.

YOUNG WARRIOR:

Mudpaw was named Mudpelt, for the colors of his pelt.
Even at the time of night, Tortoiseclaw's body was never moved from it's spot in the clearing. Mudpelt said that he would want to grieve for his mother one last time.
Mudpelt sat in the clearing, seated by his mother's body while he looked at it. She had no injuries, just like what the Medicine cat implied, and it made it even more confusing. Would he, Mudpelt, die of a broken heart one day?
Suddenly, a cat raced out of one of the dens. Mudpelt followed them out of camp, seeing them lead him to the river. They had smooth fur, and that was all Mudpelt could identify them with. They immediately crossed the stream that divided them from Windclan. Mudpelt stopped there, and headed back to camp, going to report what he saw.
-----------------------------
In the morning, Mudpelt found that Galedive was missing. Cats sleeping next to her say that she wasn't there all night, and Mudpelt got the idea that it was Galedive that he followed- but why would she leave?
Near sunhigh, Mudpelt went to bury Tortoiseclaw- placing her next to the spot rumoured to where Battlecry 'slept'. The others dug the hole, and before they filled it, Mudpelt put a small leaf.
They left the spot, Mudpelt determined to carry on the family.

Roleplay Sample

Dawn awoke the clan like a loud noise. Rays of light peeked in through the crevices of the Warriors' den, hitting Mudpelt on his clenched eyelids.
Mudpelt rolled over onto his side, trying to avoid the light, but it started filling the den. Mudpelt grumbled a few words before sitting up in an awkward position. He looked at the rest of the den, seeing only a few others still left alongside him. Mudpelt pulled himself up, standing with numb legs. He slipped through the entrance to the den, shaking himself as he entered the main part of camp: the clearing. Cats nearby were either stretching or grooming themselves, preparing for another long day.
Mudpelt glanced at the Fresh-kill pile, seeing only a few pieces of fish that hadn't been snatched away by any cats. He hurried away toward the camp opening, his tail twitching as he passed a few cats that shot him looks. He dipped his head to the cat guarding the entrance, not bothering to say a hello. He raced away into the undergrowth, detecting a scent of a vole.
He paused, spotting the creature fumbling with seeds at the roots of a tree. Mudpelt slid into a small crouch, his paws in front of him as he quietly snuck up on the creature. Mudpelt knew not to step on spots that looked too moist, and avoided puddles as he sneaked.
Finally, when in range, Mudpelt swiped his paw out and grabbed the creature, pummelling it with his paws until he was able to sink his fangs into it's neck. It went limp immediately, lying on the ground with little to no activity. Mudpelt picked it up, and carried it off to the river- where he'd find a spot to hide it while he looked for other prey.

Would it be alright if I feature mudpelt in a short comic I'm doing for TBT? Just some intereactions with My character Crowfall when he was an apprentice.
